The Lagerholm way...

Your Lagerholm Sauna comes from a family firm established back in 1968 by Svante Lagerholm, which has grown to become one of Finland's greatest exporters of Sauna to the world.
Lagerholm products are built with pride by craftsmen with generations of Sauna expertise - everyone who works there has at least one sauna at home - and usually another at their Summer Cottage. These are real Finns!

The Lagerholm factory stands beside Euro Highway E18, about half-way from Helsinki to the Russian border, and is tastefully set in its own landscaped grounds against the backdrop of the vast Finnish pine forests.
The bungalow-like building houses Lagerholm's sales and administration offices.

Inside, it is equipped with the finest and most modern woodworking machinery available, so that the finished product has a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and finish - yet they are produced with the great efficiency that makes Lagerholm's high quality products so highly affordable.

In 1978, Svante Lagerholm and his company were honoured by President Urho Kekkonen of Finland with the only President's Export Award ever made to a Sauna specialist.
This is an even more remarkable achievement, in Finland, the home of Sauna!

Today the company is still run by many of the original team, a strong line of continuity that maintains the proud traditions of the Lagerholm company, of Finnish craftsmanship, and of the Sauna tradition that is itself a vital part of Finland.
Some of the personnel in this picture have been with the company from its earliest days, back in the 60's....

Though retired for some years, Mr Svante Lagerholm visited the Lagerholm office every day, continuing his great enthusiasm for his life's work in Sauna.

Sadly, Svante was lost to us in the SE Asian Tsunami disaster in December 2004, while on holiday in Thailand.

His enormous contribution to the world of Sauna will live on for ever, and he will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.
A hard working, genial, fun-loving ambassador for Finnish Sauna; a loving family man and a successful businessman of true honesty, Svante himself gave us these words, which meant so much to him:
